This branch estimates conditionality, expected hours, AET/CET status, light-touch / working-enough position and likely appointment expectations. It does not calculate the UC payment.
Use years. For example, 6 months = 0.5, 18 months = 1.5.
This does not automatically set hours to zero; it flags that the claimant commitment may need tailoring.
Can place the lead carer in No Work-related Requirements.
Usually Work Focused Interview only for the relevant period.
LCW generally moves the claimant to work preparation.
LCWRA generally means no work-related requirements.
Self-employed earnings do not count towards the AET. A gainfully self-employed start-up period does not require looking for other work; where the MIF applies, UC treats the claimant as meeting their conditionality earnings threshold.
Optional. Use only if a work coach has agreed lower expected hours.
AET is checked at both individual and household level. The individual AET affects that claimant; the couple/household AET affects both claimants. Self-employed earnings do not count towards AET.
For an apprentice, select “Apprentice rate” only where that rate legally applies. The UC apprentice CET uses a maximum of 30 hours a week (or the claimant’s lower expected hours).
